Giveaway Time

It's Spring, I"m so happy! I love the warmer weather! I also think it's time to do a giveaway. Since the weather is so nice and it's getting warmer I'm going to be giving away a pretty handmade indigo needle felted butterfly brooch and a little needle felted lady bug brooch. How do I win you ask? Well here are the details.


First this contest is open to residents of Canada or the United States only. The price value is $14. You will win one pretty blue butterfly and a lady bug brooch. These little brooches look lovely pinned to your coat, hat, hair band, hair clip, purse. Now for what you have to do to win?

The Iris

I made this Iris collection yesterday and was surprised to find that it was picked for the front page of Artfire. I love purple and the Iris is just so lovely. I found so many wonderful items made with this flower it was hard to choose. I hope you enjoy what I have found.

Earth Day Donation for CPAWS

I was contacted about a month ago by the Canadain Parks and Wilderness Society about an Earth Day event happening at Wabi Sabi in Ottawa, Ontario. They are making a wilderness display in their window for Earth Day April 22, 2011. I was asked if I would like to participate and create one of the animals listed on their blog for the display. Whatever I created had to be something that was local to the Ontario wilderness. 

Since I have always had a fascination with the Canadian Lynx ever since I was a small child, and I used to enjoy pencil drawing it quite often. This was my animal of choice for the display. It took quite a few hours to complete this little guy but I think he turned out well. I also completed a raccoon for the display because they are pretty abundant here in Ottawa. If your interested in seeing my needle felted animals, they can be viewed at the display at Wabi Sabi in Ottawa, Ontario between April 1 and April 31, 2011. Here are a couple of pictures of both the completed animals. Both of these animals will be donated to the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society for their table displays at events. It will give childrens and adults something to look at and handle. 

New featured shop of the week is Shiny Cat Creations

Christine owns the shop Shiny Cat Creations on Artfire, she makes the most scrumptious looking bath and body products. Her milk chocolate soap looks good enough to eat and I'm so tempted to try out her butter cream icing whipped soap. She also has a selection of jewelry creations at amazing prizes, most under $10. She will be listing many new products soon including mineral makeup. Go take a look! 

Too Fancy Jewelry is the Featured shop of the week

This week's featured shop is Too Fancy Jewelry. At Too Fancy you will find a wonderful extensive selection of jewelry all handmade. I really love all the woven jewelry that she does. I particularly love this turquoise spiral bracelet from her shop. Too Fancy Jewelry can be found on Artfire. Why not go over and take a look, I bet you will find something you can't live without!
